Iowa Firm Recalls Chili With Beans Product Due To Mislabeling And An Undeclared Allergen

Pinnacle Foods Group LLC, a Fort Madison, Iowa, establishment, is recalling approximately 91,125 pounds of a canned chili with beans product because it was inadvertently packaged with an incorrect flag on the plastic over-wrap and may contain an undeclared allergen, wheat.

Mars Snackfood US ISSUES ALLERGY ALERT ON UNDECLARED PEANUTS In Dove Caramel Pecan Perfection Ice Cream

Today, Mars Snackfood US announced a voluntary recall of its Dove Caramel Pecan Perfection ice cream with the lot number 931AB5YN07 because it may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No related illnesses have been reported to date.

Preventing Unintentional Childhood Injuries (RFA-CE-10-001)
Awards will be up to $175,000 per year for two years, and the application deadline date is January 8, 2010.

Research Priorities in Acute Injury Care (RFA-CE-10-003)
Awards will be up to $300,000 per year for two years, and the application deadline date is January 15, 2010.

Unintentional Poisoning from Prescription Drug Overdose in Adults (RFA-CE-10-002)
Awards will be up to $175,000 per year for two years, and the application deadline date is January, 19th, 2010.

Research Grants for Preventing Violence and Violence-Related Injury (RFA-CE-10-005)
Awards will be up to $400,000 per year for three years, and the application deadline date is January 22, 2010

Massachusetts Firm Recalls Fresh Ground Beef Patties And Beef Steak Products Due To Possible E. coli O157:H7 Contamination

Crocetti’s Oakdale Packing Co., doing business as, South Shore Meats, Inc., a Brockton, Mass., establishment, is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,039 pounds of fresh ground beef patties derived from bench trim as well as mechanically tenderized beef cuts that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7

Accusure Insulin Syringes (Qualitest Pharmaceuticals) – Recall

Audience: Diabetes healthcare professionals and patients

Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and FDA notified healthcare professionals of a nationwide recall of Accusure Insulin Syringes. All syringes, regardless of lot number, are subject to this recall. These syringes were distributed between January 2002 and October 2009 to wholesale and retail pharmacies nationwide (including Puerto Rico). The syringes in these lots may have needles which detach from the syringe. If the needle becomes detached from the syringe during use, it can become stuck in the insulin vial, push back into to the syringe, or remain in the skin after injection. Consumers who have any Accusure insulin syringes should stop using them and contact Qualitest at 1-800-444-4011 for reimbursement.
